I created a screencast on how to use Glogster. Glogster is a program where you can create interactive digital posters. It's a fun and creative way to share information. To create my screencast I used screenr which is a very user friendly tool. I am not the most tech savvy person (yet) and even I thought it was easy to use. Screenr has a 5 minute time limit, which was great for our assignment, but I realized it was pretty hard to keep it under 5 minutes. I had to do it many times because time was up and I still had things to show.
Screencasts would be great to use in the classroom. At my school, each grade level has a mobile lab and creating screencasts would be helpful for giving directions for different things. I like to go over how to use different websites with my students, but there are many times students can't remember a step or forget something. A screencast would be good for students to have access to as they can re-watch directions and pause and play as they wish.
